Crazy happenings in Null
The adventure has begun to take off as a rather simple Half-Ogre named Paul has come onto the scene. After an intense battle on the way to Null he reached the city where he came upon the clinic owned by Leoril, the cleric spoken of previously. However, on his way to the clinic he found a situation with a woman calling for help. Just then our favorite justice seeking monk jumped down into the alley amidst purple smoke and proceeded to punch the guts out of a hooded man who was standing over the woman. It turns out this was a major misunderstanding and the man was actually her husband who was trying to help her. Part of the street had collapsed and her foot was stuck. Seeking to resurrect the now thoroughly dead man, both now headed to the clinic where the only sufficiently skilled healer resided.
In the mean time the young lad from before left the clinic to find find a place to stay in the city. He made himself scarce and has not yet been seen by the party since.
At the clinic the dead man took precedence much to Paul’s chagrin, however his wounds were eventually attended to. After this Paul sought adventure by heading to the local watering holes looking for rumors. At Gorvile’s Inn he met a man named Richard who after some prodding (and bribery with booze) he told Paul of a dragon attacking merchant caravans passing along the west coast.
Paul did not expect to be able to defeat this dragon on his own and so sought out the two strong characters from before. After a bit of coercing they were both on board. At this time a strange young Catfolk woman walked into the clinic with a horrible splinter. She seemed a bit odd and prone to fits of whimsy. In one of these whimsical decisions she set out with the others to help defeat the dragon.
On the road
The travel was mostly uneventful, however they did have a run-in with a hill giant that almost ended with battle but they managed to convince the giant to leave them be. From then it was a simple matter of finding the dragon as after traveling closer to the coast a large fireball flew just over their wagon.
Battle quickly ensued as the dragon did not seem interested in conversation. The battle was fierce but the new party that was pulled together haphazardly managed to fight rather well and defeated the dragon without major incident. A rather impressive task as this was an ancient and powerful dragon.
Victory for the adventurers
After the battle the party traveled to the coast to search for the dragon’s lair amongst the cliffs. They found it rather easily when they climbed down over the side. Near the back of a cave they found the nest as well as a section of wall that was rather scratched up. Behind this wall was the dragon’s treasure horde. As a few of the adventurers sought this treasure Leoril feeling that his work was done and requiring neither wealth nor fame returned to his clinic through Word of Recall. We leave the party with the monk, Paul the Half-Ogre Fighter, and the Catfolk Rogue at the horde and the cleric at his clinic. the young boy’s whereabouts are still unknown.
